Swazi Queen

Race: 2, Maiden Plate (F&M)

Distance: 1600m

Comments: We really have her in great shape at the moment and we think she will prefer being back in a mile. Star Board is the filly to beat, but we hoping to give her a run for her money.

Tenacity

Race: 2, Maiden Plate (F&M)

Distance: 1600m

Comments: She has just had the two sprints to date, which weren’t too bad, considering she is looking for the turn which she gets now. Not the best of draws, but we are expecting a much improved run over the extra. She could well run on into the money this time.

Greenlghtflash

Race: 3, Maiden Plate

Distance: 1600m

Comments: If the handicapper has it right, he is the horse to beat on paper, but he too is unfavourably drawn. This race does look very competitive, but he will have an each way chance though.

Alingalonga

Race: 3  Maiden Plate

Distance: 1600m

Comments: Big improvement in his last start as he comes to hand now, however the 13 draw may be telling. We wouldn’t leave him out of exotics though.

Fabian

Race: 4, Pinnacle Stakes

Distance: 1400m

Comments: Traditionally not his best trip, but draws well and Aldo has chosen to ride as he comes in well weighted for this pinnacle. Currently favourite at 7/2. Respect in the opening leg of the carry over pick 6.

Snow Report

Race: 4, Pinnacle Stakes

Distance: 1400m

Comments: We find it difficult to split our contenders here, Snow Report is fit and well and distance suited, and as such he does look to represent some value here. Pinkerton, Hudoo Magic and Captain Of Stealth are the obvious dangers.

African Rain

Race: 5, Summer Juvenile Stakes (Listed)

Distance: 1000m

Comments:  Made an eye catching improvement when winning his second start most impressively. On that showing, Aldo has retained the ride, so one must respect that decision.

The highly rated filly High Hosanna does look a threat, but both of ours will have good each way chances.

Barzalona

Race: 5, Summer Juvenile Stakes (Listed)

Distance: 1000m

Comments A facile and impressive winner on debut. He shows plenty of speed and has met his stable mate before beating him by 2.75 Lengths. He has come on in his work  and could be anything. Expect a huge from  him.

Russet Air

Race: 7, Cape Flying Championship (WFA) (Grade 1)

Distance: 1000m

Comments: He comes into this race with the prefect prep and he is now back over his most effective trip. A previous winner of this race last year and we think he will go very close again.  Include in all bets.

Constable

Race: 7, Cape Flying Championship (WFA)  (Grade 1)

Distance: 1000m

Comments: His last two runs suggest he is getting back to his best again, but at WFA terms in a field of this calibre he will need to go above and beyond to be a factor.

Clouds Unfold

Race: 8, Majorca Stakes (WFA) (Grade 1)

Distance: 1600m

Comments: The experienced mare goes for her hat trick in this event and we couldn’t have her in better shape. We highly respect the ability of Captain’s Ransom, but the 3 year old will need to be at her peak to beat Clouds.

Chat Ching

Race: 8, Majorca Stakes (WFA) (Grade 1)

Distance: 1600m

Comments: Her record is most impressive, with two cracking runs in the Filles Guineas and Majorca coming from the tail of the field. Her work this week has been exceptional with Grant up and she will have every chance form a respectable draw this time. She looks value at 12/10 to run into the top 3.

Sovereign Spirit

Race: 9, Cape Town Met (Grade 1)

Distance: 2000m

Comments: He takes his chances as a rank outsider in this race. Fit and well and over a trip where he has produced his best runs. Holding thumbs he runs a cracker.

I do like the fillies in this race, Princess Calla and Queen Supreme, both are capable of winning a race like this. Bulgarian must be highly respected and one must include African Night Sky as the dark horse on his last run.

Moon in June

Race: 10, Western Cape Stayers (Grade 2)

Distance: 2800m

Comments: First run for us over this type of trip, but she will need to replicate her Oaks run two starts ago to be a factor here.

Holy Warrior

Race: 10, Western Cape Stayers (Grade 2)

Distance: 2800m

Comments: Never far off the best of them over these trips but does look held at the weights. Include for larger JP perms.

Ohwhatanight

Race: 11, FM 76 Handicap (F&M)

Distance: 1000m

Comments: She had her form franked with Little Doe this week and looks a lively contender in this fillies sprint. Good each way chance. Social Butterfly looks the filly to beat.

What A Flight

Race: 11, FM 76 Handicap (F&M)

Distance: 1000m

Comments: A Recent maiden winner in PE, she will need to make a big improvement to be a factor here, but her work is very good leading up to the race.
